Homemade Cashew Milk

Homemade cashew nut milk (or mylk).. very easy to make and super nutritious! Full of protein, heart healthy fats, minerals and vitamins.


Cashews can help reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and because they are a great source of magnesium, they help to maintain blood pressure. They also support the immune system and nervous system, keep the bones strong, and lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.

What’s not to like about them?

1 cup organic cashews (or can also use any nuts or seeds)

2 litres filtered water

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp date nectar (or 2 Medjool dates, or 1 tsp honey or maple syrup) *optional


Soak the nuts overnight in 1 litre of the water with the salt added. The following morning, drain the nuts and rinse well. Combine with 1 litre of filtered water and the sweetener in a blender, and blend on high speed for 30 seconds.

Set up a nut milk bag or cheesecloth over a large bowl. Strain the mixture into the bowl, and then pour into a sealable bottle, using a funnel, then refrigerate. This milk will last for 3 or 4 days in the fridge.
